The Merits and Demerits of Universal Health Care

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

The eternal debate rages on the subject of universal health care, the introduction of a system that ensures health care availability to every member of society. It is a global phenomena and one that has been implemented by various countries around the world in one form or the other. The concept of universal health care relies on the availability of the best health care to all the citizens and the choice of a funding mechanism that ensures the affordability of the same to all, irrespective of where or how the individual lives. It is this aspect of equality that differentiates the universal health system from a privatized system in which individuals seek insurance cover against medical emergencies according to their financial standing.

The question of affordability and availability of the best in healthcare is a concern for most individuals. Even in the United States which remains the only developed nation that does not have a universal health care system, a debate is on to decide whether one should be put in place. This is indicative of the importance of having a universal health care system. However, the advantage is lost in a socialistic setup wherein only a minimum level of health care is assured to all and the more critical care is left to the affordability of individual insurance cover. So for a universal health care system to be effective it should be all inclusive for all individuals or it would suffer from the same malaise as the private health care insurance system based on the financial standing of the individuals.

Why Health Care Employees Are Needed?

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Some time it is really difficult to manage all the work at your home and outside. If all the family members are working and no one is there to care for elders then it is difficult for elders and also for family members. In this case you can provide them health care at nursing home or at your home by hiring a worker who is full experienced providing health care to your elders. You can hire a worker either from an agency or directly but the workers employed by the agencies are well experienced and trained for there job.

When you are hiring an employer it is important to keep it mind that they are doing the job for which they are hired. You must not involve them in your own activities which can create a problem. Talk to them and tell them all their work which they have to do so that all the work they have to do is assigned at the starting only. There are many cases where there are problems between the employee and the employer. To prevent these problems you must all fulfill their basic needs for example you must provide them a proper room for them etc.

Health Care Wrong Battle For Obama

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Whatever your views on the current health care reform debate, it’s clearly one of the more divisive issues to come along. But while we are arguing about health coverage, health issues and how to improve medical care, potentially more important issues are being ignored. Even if the current attempt at redirecting health policy were settled quickly, and hoped for lower costs of the medical care system achieved, it will be the wrong priority at this crucial moment. Here’s why:

* With staggering debt and little more borrowing capacity, the economy needs both cost reduction and revenue growth. No matter what the outcome of improving the health system, it will not by itself, be an engine of economic growth.

* Health issues, health coverage and health system reform, while attention-getting, are not inspirational. With incendiaries like “death camps,” and “illegal immigrant coverage,” there’s little currently that can unify and rally us toward a common goal in health reform.

* While it does affect everyone eventually, the group that matters most to America’s future, our youth, is understandably uninterested in health policy. Except for the issue of their having to pay for health insurance and the cost of health reform via taxes, the need for health care in this arguably healthy group is low.

An American Universal Health Care System

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Believe it or not, America boasts some of the world’s best doctors, the most advanced health care system, and the most technically superior resources in the world, bar none. Those who travel globally and have gotten sick know that their first choice for treatment would be in the U.S. Though health care in America is, more expensive than any other country, many of the worlds wealthiest come to the U.S for surgical procedures and complex care, because it holds a worldwide reputation for the gold standard in health care.

To examine the complex health care issue, a small research study was conducted from randomly selected doctors in a best doctors database. We ask 50 top doctors, located in different states and who practice different specialty fields, ” Is a universal health care plan good for America?” Forty-eight of these doctors essentially responded that it was a “bad idea” that would have negative impacts on the quality of our nation’s health care.

Obama’s Solution to Health Care?

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

The national health care scheme that the Obama administration is currently attempting to jam down our throats is simple, really…check this out…

President Obama says he wants to give free medical care to the 42 million people in America who don’t have health insurance. But the truth is, government records show that an estimated one-third of America’s 42 million uninsured are illegal aliens. And another third are people who could afford health insurance but who have chosen instead to buy a better house, a better car, and fancier clothes than you have.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, only about one-third of America’s uninsured would be helped by the Obama plan – at a cost of up to $2 trillion to you and me.

Obama says he wants to increase competition in the health industry, thus lowering insurance costs by forcing private insurers to compete with his free government policy. And he says that you’ll have the right to keep your current health insurance plan if you prefer.

But the truth is, the Obama plan will euthanize the private insurance industry – probably including YOUR health insurer – and force millions onto the government dole.

Health Care Reform Debate – Single Payer Vs The Public Option

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

The first option is to not make a significant change to the system. This is the choice of the insurance industry which is making billions of dollars of profits even during this economic recession. This is the choice being pushed by the Republicans and “Blue Dog” Democrats in the House & Senate since they are effectively bought off by the insurance industry. This is also the choice we can quickly dismiss because we cannot continue on the same road we are on now.

The system we have now is seriously broken. It costs more than any other system in the world and yet our actual health care is far worse than many other nations. The US health system is ranked #37 in the world by the World Health Organization and we rank #50 in life expectancy (yes that means the people in 49 countries live longer than we do on average.) We have about 50 million uninsured people. Furthermore this is more than just a health issue, it’s also an economic issue. If our current system is left unchanged it will bankrupt our nation.
